Shaun Finneran (UK, 1991) studied Physics at Durham University, and worked mainly as an engineer, before becoming a producer and co-founder of Animitas production company in 2021.
Sofía Petersen (Argentina, 1997) is a film director, writer and editor. She studied at the University of Cinema of Buenos Aires, and holds a masters degree in Filmmaking Studies at the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola. 

Their work has featured in several international film festivals, including their silent hand-developed short film ‘Alone Sleeps the Water, Frozen She Awakes’, and ‘Passing Place’ which won the Grand Jury Grand Prix at the 25FPS Festival 2021.

‘Olivia’, shot in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, on 16mm Ektachrome, is their first feature film, and one of two recipients of HBF+Europe Post-production support in 2024.

Together they form Animitas.
